About the Scholarships Fair
The Scholarships Fair is a unique event of national importance in Croatia, where a variety of scholarships and other forms of financial aid available to Croatian citizens for studying in Croatia and abroad are presented at a single location. The Institute for the Development of Education launched the Scholarships Fair in 2005. Having become an annual event, the Fair is now a recognisable, high-profile Croatian educational brand and a highly valued initiative promoting investment in knowledge and human potential.
The main goal of the Scholarships Fair is the promotion of the importance of scholarships in opening and increasing access to higher education. Scholarships play a key role in removing financial obstacles to higher education and have a direct impact on raising the number of higher educated citizens, which is necessary for Croatia's continued economic growth and the creation of a knowledge-based society. The second goal of the Scholarships Fair is the promotion of the importance of scholarships in bringing learning outcomes in line with the needs of the labour market.
Participants at the Scholarships Fair include Croatian and international institutions, whose representatives provide all necessary information and answer visitors' questions. Participating institutions include Croatian ministries, embassies and cultural centres of foreign countries in Croatia, as well as representatives of a number of companies, foundations and non-governmental organisations.
Scholarships Fair 2009
The fifth annual Scholarships Fair 2009 will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at the National and University Library in Zagreb, from 10am till 6pm.
