First European e-Skills Week on 1-5 March
European e-Skills Week highlights the growing demand for skilled users and professionals of information and communication technologies (ICT) to drive a competitive and innovative Europe. This campaign seeks to inform students, young professionals and SMEs about the vast range of opportunities that ICT-related jobs present. The European e-Skills Week 2010 is expected to involve 300,000 participants in more than 100 activities.

Bologna Process Conference in Vienna, Budapest, 11-12 March 2010
Ministers of Education from the 46 Bologna Process signatory countries will gather with key stakeholders, including EUA, for a special anniversary conference next month to mark the official launch of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). EUA President Jean-Marc Rapp will address Ministers at this important meeting and present the university perspective including some of the findings from the forthcoming Trends study.

New publication: Lifelong Learning Strategies
"Lifelong Learning Strategies: Progress & Setbacks in Institutional Practice in Flanders - the results of a EURASHE study" is the second in a series on Lifelong Learning. This issue represents a follow-up of the report of the previous study. It focuses less on the development of lifelong learning at policy-making level but is orientated towards its implementation within professional higher education institutions.

EUA response to the Commission report on Quality Assurance
EUA has responded to the European Commission’s invitation to stakeholders to reflect on its progress report on Quality Assurance in higher education. As a key stakeholder, representing universities, EUA is pleased that the report underlines that the main responsibility for quality assurance (QA) lies with higher education institutions and recognizes that progress has been made.
